Lambeth's Core Strategy, published in January this year, had this statement of intent:
highway improvements throughout the Vauxhall area particularly seeking the removal of the one-way traffic system
Lambeth's Labour group have now published a draft 'manifesto' for Lambeth which has a watered down version, with leader Steve Reed saying, "We will support residents who have asked TfL to remove the gyratory to create new open spaces and improve the area for pedestrians and cyclists."
