More clear space for bicycles on Kennington Road
Good to see Lambeth have put in a cycle lane that not only gives some wide clear space to cyclists but also enables and encourages them to stay out of the door zone of the parked police vehicles.
Yes it's a better than average cycle lane (for London) although a pity it is only advisory, not mandatory. I don't know if it would have been legal to make it a mandatory lane in that sort of situation, but it ought to be. You do see parking within cycle lanes like this quite often on the continent, and it is of course better than having parking on the cycle lane, or the cycle lane swerving around parking.
